Video That Drives Results

It’s one thing if you can make great video and as you probably know, video is what we do. But our video actually drives results. Here’s an example.

In June of 2018 The Green Beret Foundation put together a full-day training event with Special Forces and SIG Sauer at the SIG Sauer Academy to raise money for The Green Beret Foundation. It was the first event of its kind and we were asked to shoot and create a promotional video to use for the event the following year.

The 2018 event was a success and it raised $26,000! After the event, we created a 2-minute video as well as a 1-minute video optimized for Instagram. Here is the 2-minute video we made, followed by the 1-minute Instagram video.

The event happened again in June of 2019 and with the help of the videos we created, they had more than double the attendees and raised just over $41,000!

It was amazing to see the work we do help such an incredible cause. Check out a few more photos from the event below!

If your business or event is in need of a video, we would be more than happy to talk. We’ve helped clients in various industries with video, let us help you. Our email is hi@focusforwardmedia.com

Event Marketing: Maximizing Video Content

If you have an event, there are several ways you can market it but one of the most effective ways is with a video. There’s no denying video gets the most attention of any content type and to market your event, video can be a huge help.

On June 1, 2018 we worked with The Green Beret Foundation and Sig Sauer Academy to create a video of their Fundraiser event. It was held at the Sig Sauer Academy in New Hampshire and Green Berets along with family/friends were taught proper gun training and safety for the day. It was an amazing event for an even better cause. See the video below.

This was the first of the now annual event and this video will help raise awareness for this years event on June 1st. Without this video, an event like this might have some pictures to help market it, or an article to recap the day, but a well-produced video with interviews from participants will really go the extra mile and get more attention.

Now, it doesn’t just stop there. We made the video above to recap the day and help market it, but, you have to be conscious of where you’re distributing these videos. Along with making the 2:20 video, we recently created a 60-second video AD optimized for Instagram to help create more buzz now that it is under 6 months to the event. Check out that video here.

As you can see, the content serves more than one purpose. We made 2 videos out of all the content we gathered, and could likely make another 1-2 videos if we needed. Being able to repurpose the content you gather is very important and now being able to promote the event with a video that is truly optimized for Instagram in terms of length and aspect ratio can make a big difference.

If your brand or organization is having an event , or wants to create one, you have several choices of how to market it. But a video will be the best strategy to drive more people to your event, especially if you are distributing this video through social media. Social media is where consumers are and video is the most favored type of content.

If you need help marketing your event and are considering video, we would be happy to talk with you and see how we can help. Fill out a form on our contact page or email us at hi@focusforwardmedia.com!

Advertising On Twitter: What You May Not Know

You might be running some ads and posting content on Facebook, Instagram, maybe Google ads too. But what about Twitter? It seems that many people forget about Twitter or don’t pay much attention to it because they feel it isn’t valuable. However, if you read this article, you’ll find it is quite valuable and maybe it will inspire you to start using Twitter more!

Twitter Ads

Much like Facebook, Instagram, Google and others, Twitter has a paid Ad product with two different options. One option is their ‘Twitter Promote Mode’ which automatically promotes your tweets and profile for a flat rate of $99 per month. It’s essentially an ‘always-on’ ad product, to learn more about it, click here.

The other Ad product is basically called ‘Twitter Ads’ and is geared towards creating campaigns with a set budget and an objective. Some of the objectives are things like get more followers, gain more website traffic, get more downloads of your app, along with a few others. You create the campaign, you set the budget, you set the targeting, and the call to action so you can really advertise the way you want. There is a ‘quick promote’ campaign for select tweets, but at this point you’re better off setting the targeting, the budget, CTA, etc. to get a better result. To learn more about this method, click here.

Now that you have a general understanding of the way Twitter Ads work, here are some stats that might surprise you.

  • 75% of B2B businesses are advertising on Twitter

  • Twitter Ads are 11% more effective than TV ads during live events

  • From October 2017 to 2018, Twitter posted a 50% increase in ad engagement

    • In the same time span, there was a 14% decline in cost per engagement

  • 40% of users say they have made a purchase based off an influencer’s tweet

  • Promoted tweets with video saved 50% on their cost per engagement

  • $70 million was spent on Ads in 2017

Advertising on Twitter is one thing, but you can get results by posting organic content too, especially if you’re starting out and not sure you want to pour significant $$$ into Twitter Ads. Twitter is a valuable place for content whether you’re putting money behind it or not. Here are some more stats.

  • There are 500 million tweets sent every day, that’s almost 6,000 every second

  • People are 31% more likely to recall something they saw on Twitter

  • Tweets with images get 150% more retweets

  • If you’re in the news/media business, good for you because 71% of people say they read their news on Twitter.

  • You should be optimizing your content for mobile because 80% of users access Twitter from their phones

  • 54% of users in a survey stated that they took action after seeing a brand mentioned in a tweet (visiting their site, searching for them, retweeting their content, etc.)

Video on Twitter can be exceptionally powerful. Here are a few stats regarding video on Twitter

  • Twitter ranks as the #1 platform for ‘coming across video’ (i.e. discovering new video content)

  • 5x more people discover new video on Twitter than through other sources

  • 93% of Twitter’s video views are on mobile devices

  • Video views on Twitter have grown 220x in the last year

  • Video on Twitter can increase your brands awareness by 61%

    • It also leads to an average increase in intent to purchase by 34%

Will you put some time into twitter now?

3 Entry-Level Options To Add Video To Your Marketing

While video is essentially a must for your marketing plan, we understand it can be a daunting process to start. If you’ve never done video before, you first have to decide whether you want to do it in-house or outsource it. One important thing to keep in mind is that you want the quality of the videos to properly reflect your brand.

If you do it in-house, you now need to look into what camera equipment to buy, the right computer to buy, video editing software, and more. Also, you need to make sure the person you hire is familiar with the equipment, computer and software.

If you outsource, now you have to look for companies in your area, meet with them, and choose one. It’s important to choose one that you get along with, who’s work you like, and who’s cost fits with your budget.

So you’re ready to make a video! Where do you start?

Well there are endless options with more; some more time-consuming/costly than others. You could make a 2-3 minute video that contains interviews with important people in your company and truly shows what you do, what makes you different, and why people should do business with you. This is what some might call an ‘overview video’ or ‘about us video.’

This is often a great video to make but it can be time consuming. We wanted to give you 3 video ideas here that can be an easier entry point to add video to your marketing.

1. Video Testimonials

If you have a successful product or service and happy customers, then you’re ready for this one. Video testimonials are a great way to share your customers’ stories to people who may be on the fence. What’s unique about doing video testimonials is that it brings online reviews to life. Many people can read your reviews online but watching and hearing someone share their thoughts about your business can really make a difference.

2. Video FAQ’s

If you or your business gets a lot of questions, this can be a great option for people to easily learn about your business and get to know you. For example, if you are an IT company, you likely get a lot of questions. One way to set yourself apart would be to make videos of you answering common questions you get. When people visit your website and they have these questions, you’re giving them free value. Now they will likely stay on your site longer, be inclined to visit your site again with more questions, and more inclined to reach out to you when they do need your services because you’ve provided them with free value. Below is an example we actually created ourselves!

3. Video Tips

This option is similar to #2. I’ll use an accountant as an example. If you’re an accountant and you make a video titled “3 Tax Tips For Small Business Owners” where you give small business owners tips on doing their taxes, you’re going to stand out and get more visitors to your site. You could even make a video called “3 Reasons Why You Need a Professional CPA” and you tell people why they should hire a professional to do their taxes. People appreciate free knowledge, and let’s be honest, most people don’t want to do their own taxes, they just want to save money. So if you can save them money and do their taxes, you win. That’s just one example, but this method can apply to many other businesses.

Also, making these videos with mobile viewers/being mobile friendly in mind is very important.

3 Ways Video Can Help Your Business

Read time: 5 minutes
Video examples: 12-14 minutes

If you've ever wondered how video can help your business, hopefully this will help you answer that question. There's no doubt that video can be extremely beneficial; just consider the following facts to start:

  • 81% of businesses use video in their marketing, up from 63% in a 2017 survey

  • 97% of marketers say that video has helped their consumer better understand their product or service

  • 76% say that video has helped increase sales

  • 81% of people have been convinced to buy a product or service after watching a video
Stats provided by Wyzowl on Hubspot.

Those are just a few facts! The link above has several more. But let's get into this article!

1. Product or Service

If your business sells a product or service, a video is one of the best ways to market it.

Think about it, what better way to show someone how to use your team communication app than a video? For example, a video made for Slack, the team communication app.

Or, it could simply be a video to show off your mobile charger in someone's daily life. Example below of a video we made.

Think about your own daily life, if you had a question about how to use a product you just bought and when you googled your question, 1 result is a video and 1 is an article, which would you choose? Probably a video. *72% of people would rather watch a video than read text to learn about a product or service*

2. Event Video

Whether you stream it live or not, and whether you use video before or after the event, it can be very powerful to add to your event marketing strategy.

For example, if you have a conference coming up in a few months and you want more attendees, creating a video to increase excitement can do that! Those that are already registered will probably share the video with friends, and anyone not going might now be interested in going! Flip the perspective, if you saw a video for an event that got you really pumped up, really made you more interested and you were free that day, would you think about buying tickets/going to the event? I know I would. For example, below is a video for INBOUND, one of the biggest digital marketing conferences that happens in Boston every year.

If you're a marketer and have not been to INBOUND before, you probably will want to go after seeing this video. Now put that strategy to use for your business.

Maybe you have an event that could create some buzz about your business? That's cool too! Our client Gallifords restaurant recently had a 1 Year Anniversary party and we produced a short recap video of it! See below.

Gallifords distributed this video on their Facebook page and it created lots of buzz! People who had attended were commenting on it and sharing it with their friends. Now those people are learning about a new restaurant and might visit Gallifords. Or the people who know Gallifords but didn't go might want to go to the next event because they saw what they missed.

Now if they want to have another party on their 2nd Anniversary, they can use this video to entice more visitors for that as well!

3. Fundraising

If you are a non-profit or your business needs fundraising, video can make a HUGE impact. It's all about emotion.

I know it sounds like a broken record, but think about yourself personally. If you watched a video about money being raised to help a foundation or a cause and it truly hit your emotion and made you feel like you could make a difference, would you donate? For example, watch this commercial made for Water.org and Stella Artois.

Could you imagine waiting up to 6 hours to get water? This is a truly powerful video made by Stella to show people an insane reality and hopefully generate more fundraising for Water.org.

We recently finished a project with one of our clients, Find The Cause, where we interviewed 4 doctors about the current research they are doing to find certain causes of breast cancer. The goal was to show people where the money goes and to try to raise more money to continue this incredible research. Check out the video below.

We were told that after watching this video, one of their donors doubled their donation. This goes to show that using video can truly be effective in this area of business.

We are also currently working on a few videos with Lahey Health to help raise money for their Annual Cancer 5K. Again, whether your business is a non-profit and raising money for a cause, or you are fundraising for another reason, video can be very effective if done right.
------

After reading this, we hope you can see the big impact that video can have regardless of what type of business you are. If you do it right, creating video(s) for your business can have a significant upside.
